Applications for the College Teaching Interns (CTI) adjusted seats closed at midnight on 22 October 2026, and now every applicant is asking the same thing: when will the CTI merit list 2026 come out? In this guide we explain how the CTI merit list 2026-27 is made, where it is displayed, how to check your name and what happens at the interview stage.
The Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab runs the CTI programme through the official portal at cti-hep.punjab.gov.pk. Interns are placed in government colleges across Punjab for one academic session, with a monthly salary of Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 75,000. Because seats are college-wise, the CTI merit list 2026-27 is also prepared college-wise and subject-wise.

How the CTI Merit List Is Calculated
According to the CTI Induction Policy 2026-27, the merit is out of 100 marks and is split into four parts:
| Component | Marks |
|---|---|
| Educational qualification | 85 |
| Performance as CTI during 2025-26 | 5 |
| Local candidate (same district) | 5 |
| Interview | 5 |
| Total | 100 |
Educational qualification carries by far the most weight, which is why candidates with strong degree results usually sit at the top of the list. The 5 marks for CTI performance only go to those who worked as College Teaching Interns in 2025-26, and the 5 local marks reward candidates who apply in their own district. The last 5 marks come from the interview at the college.
Our calculator uses the average of your academic percentages to estimate the 85 education marks. The official calculation follows the detailed rules of the induction policy, so your real score can be slightly different. Treat the result as a guide, not a final answer.
Eligibility That Affects Your Place on the List
- Graduate (BS) colleges: MS, MPhil or PhD in the relevant subject. If no such candidate applies, MA or MSc holders may be considered.
- Other colleges (including community colleges): Master’s degree or 4-year BS with at least second division in the relevant subject.
- Age limit: up to 40 years.
If your degree does not match the subject of the seat, your application can be dropped from the list even if your marks are high. Always apply only in your own subject.
How to Check the CTI Merit List 2026-27
- Visit the official CTI portal at cti-hep.punjab.gov.pk and log in with your CNIC and password.
- Open your dashboard and look for the merit list or application status section.
- Check the college-wise and subject-wise list for every college you selected.
- Visit the notice board of the college as well, because colleges also display their own lists.
- Take a screenshot or photo of the list showing your position.
Do not trust lists shared in WhatsApp groups unless they match the portal or the college notice board. Fake and edited lists spread quickly during induction season.
Objections on the Tentative Merit List
In the first round, candidates were given a short window after the tentative list to file objections with the Deputy Director Colleges of their district. If the same pattern is followed for adjusted seats, you will have only a day or two, so act fast if your marks, local status or CTI experience is shown incorrectly. Write a short application, attach copies of your CNIC, degrees and domicile, and keep a receipt.
CTI Interview: What to Expect
Shortlisted candidates are called to the college for an interview, and call letters are normally sent a few days in advance. In the first round, candidates were told to appear at each college they applied to on the given dates, whether or not they received a message. Missing the interview can disqualify you. Bring these documents:
- Original CNIC and photocopies
- All original degrees, transcripts and DMCs
- Domicile certificate (for local marks)
- CTI experience certificate for 2025-26, if any
- Recent photographs and a printout of your portal application
The interview carries only 5 marks, but in close cases it decides who gets the seat. Prepare a short introduction, revise the basics of your subject and be ready to explain how you would teach an intermediate or BS class.
After the Final CTI Merit List
Once the successful candidates list is displayed, selected interns must join the allotted college quickly. In the first round, candidates were required to join within 7 days of the offer, or the offer could be cancelled. CTI is a temporary internship for one session. Common Mistakes That Push Candidates Down the List
Every year, many capable candidates lose their place on the CTI merit list because of small errors that could have been avoided. Before the lists come out, log in to the portal and check your profile once more.
- Wrong subject: applying against a seat that does not match your degree subject.
- Incorrect marks: typing total marks in place of obtained marks, or entering CGPA where percentage was required.
- Missing domicile: not claiming local status, which costs you 5 marks in your own district.
- Missing the interview: waiting for a call letter that never arrives instead of checking the college schedule yourself.
- Late joining: not reporting to the college on time after selection, which can cancel the offer.
If you spot one of these problems, contact the college principal or the office of the Deputy Director Colleges in your district as soon as the tentative list appears. Corrections are much harder after the final list is out.
