Every STI candidate in Punjab now has one date circled on the calendar: Saturday, 31 October 2026. That is the day the STI final merit list 2026 will be displayed at 10:00 AM on school notice boards and on the official STI portal. After that, selected School Teacher Interns get their agreement letters on 2 November and start teaching on 3 November. This page explains how to check the final list, what the result means and what you must do in the first 72 hours after it comes out.

The initial lists were displayed on 23 October, objections are being heard on 26 and 27 October, and interviews take place on 29 and 30 October. The final list combines all of these steps, so it is the only list that decides who actually gets an internship seat. Screenshots shared before 31 October on WhatsApp or Facebook are not final, however official they may look.

How to check your name in the STI final list online

1. Open the official STI portal at sti.pesrp.edu.pk.
2. Log in with the CNIC and password you used for your application. Use "Forgot Password" if you cannot remember it.
3. Open your dashboard and look for the merit list or application status section.
4. Select your district, tehsil and school if asked, and find your name, merit marks and position.
5. Take a screenshot and also visit the school notice board to confirm, because both are official.

The portal may be slow on the morning of 31 October because thousands of people log in at the same time. Try early, try from mobile data, or simply check the notice board at your school, which shows the same result. There is no single province-wide PDF; lists are prepared school by school. What to Do After the STI Final Merit List 2026

Being on the final list is only half the job. The next few days decide whether you actually join, so follow these steps carefully:

• Download your agreement letter on 2 November from the STI portal. Read the terms, including the fixed period and duties.
• Prepare your joining documents: CNIC, degrees, domicile, and copies of your agreement. Our STI joining letter and joining report format guide shows the exact paperwork.
• Report to your school on 3 November and submit the joining report to the head teacher.
• Keep your bank account active, because the stipend is paid monthly through bank.
• Remember the internship is temporary. It runs until 31 May 2027, is not converted into a permanent job, and you receive a certificate on completion.

If your name is not on the STI final list

If you do not appear on the final list, first check that you are looking at the right school and post level, because many candidates applied to more than one. If you still believe there is an error, speak to the head teacher and the office of your Deputy DEO the same day with your documents. Keep an eye on the school notice board for any changes in the first week, as seats sometimes open up when selected candidates do not join. How the STI final merit is worked out

The final position is not a fresh calculation from zero. It starts with the academic merit shown in the initial list, adds any correction approved by the tehsil committee during objections, and then adds the interview result for shortlisted candidates. Preference is given to candidates who hold a B.Ed or M.Ed along with the required degree, but that preference never replaces the basic qualification for the level:

• Primary: BA or BSc.
• Elementary: MA, MSc, BS (Hons), BA or BSc.
• High and Higher Secondary: MA, MSc or BS (Hons) in the relevant subject.
• Age limit: 21 to 45 years.

This is why two candidates with the same degree percentage can end up in different positions on the final list: one may have a professional qualification or a stronger interview, or may have had a marking error corrected on 26 or 27 October.

Common problems on final list day and quick fixes

• Portal shows "no record found": make sure you logged in with the same CNIC used for the application, then refresh after some time. The notice board is equally official.
• Name spelling is wrong: it does not cancel your selection, but tell the head teacher at once so the agreement letter is issued in the correct name.
• Selected in two schools: you can join only one. Choose the one closest to home, because no travel allowance is paid.
• Forgot portal password: use the "Forgot Password" option with your registered mobile number or email well before 2 November, when agreement letters go live.

Keep all your screenshots and receipts in one folder on your phone. Head teachers and education offices often ask for proof during joining week, and having everything ready saves you repeated visits.
