If you checked the initial list at your school and could not find your name, or your marks look wrong, do not panic. The STI objection 2026 window opens on Monday, 26 October and stays open until Tuesday, 27 October. These two days are your only chance to get a mistake fixed before the final list is locked on 31 October. This guide explains, in simple steps, who can object, where to go, what to carry and how to make sure your complaint is actually heard.
The initial School Teacher Intern lists went up on 23 October 2026 on the notice boards of the government schools that advertised seats. Thousands of candidates across Punjab have already seen their position, and many have noticed small problems: a missing name, wrong aggregate, a subject mismatch or a qualification that was not counted. The good news is that the School Education Department has built a proper STI complaint process into the schedule, and it is handled close to home by a tehsil level committee.
STI Objection 2026 Dates and Where to Go
The schedule for every district in Punjab is the same. Here is where things stand on 25 October 2026 and what comes next:
| Stage | Date | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Initial merit list displayed | 23 October 2026 (done) | School notice boards |
| Objections and complaints | 26 – 27 October 2026 | Tehsil level committee |
| Interviews of shortlisted candidates | 29 – 30 October 2026 | Concerned school |
| Final merit list | 31 October 2026, 10:00 AM | School notice boards and STI portal |
| Letters of agreement | 2 November 2026 | Through the STI portal |
| Internship starts | 3 November 2026 | Allotted school |
The tehsil level committee is formed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of your District Education Authority. In most tehsils it sits at the office of the Deputy District Education Officer or the AEO office, but the exact room can differ. The simplest way to confirm is to ask the head teacher of the school where you applied, because schools were told where complaints will be received. You can also read our full STI merit list 2026 guide for district links.
Who should file an STI objection?
- Your name is missing from the initial STI merit list even though you applied before the 18 October deadline.
- Your academic marks, degree percentage or aggregate are calculated incorrectly.
- Your B.Ed or M.Ed preference marks were not added.
- Your subject or qualification is shown wrongly (for example, BS shown as BA).
- Your name, father’s name or CNIC has a spelling or digit error.
- A candidate below you in eligibility appears above you and you can prove it with documents.
If everything on the list is correct and you are simply lower in merit, an objection will not change your position. In that case, save your energy for the interview on 29 or 30 October, where shortlisted candidates can still improve their standing.

How to File Your STI Objection Step by Step
There is no online objection form for this round. The STI grievance is filed in person, on paper, in front of the committee. Follow these steps so nothing is missed:
- Take a clear photo of the initial list at your school showing the school name, your category and the names around your expected position.
- Log in to the STI portal (sti.pesrp.edu.pk) with your CNIC and password, and screenshot your submitted application, including the post and marks you entered.
- Write a short application addressed to the Chairman, Tehsil Level Committee, mentioning your name, CNIC, school name, EMIS code if known, post level (Primary, Elementary or High) and the exact error.
- Attach photocopies of your CNIC, domicile, all degrees and detailed mark sheets, and B.Ed or M.Ed certificate if you claimed preference marks.
- Carry all originals with you, because the committee may verify them on the spot.
- Submit on 26 or 27 October during office hours and ask for a receipt, diary number or a stamp on your copy.
- Check the notice board again before the interview date to see whether a revised position has been posted.
Keep the application to one page. Committees receive hundreds of complaints in two days, and a clear, short request with the right proof attached is handled much faster than a long emotional letter.
Sample text for your STI complaint application
“Respected Sir, I applied for the post of School Teacher Intern (Elementary) at [school name], [tehsil], through the STI portal before 18 October 2026. My name is not shown in the initial merit list displayed on 23 October 2026 / my marks are shown as [X] instead of [Y]. Copies of my CNIC, degrees and portal application are attached. Kindly correct my merit position. Name, CNIC, mobile number, signature.”
Change the wording to fit your case, but always mention the post level, the school and the exact difference. If you are not sure what your correct score should be, use our free STI merit calculator before you go, so you can quote a number.
Common reasons STI objections are rejected
- The candidate applied after the 18 October 2026, 11:59 PM deadline or never pressed final submit.
- The degree does not match the requirement for that level, for example applying for a High school post without a relevant MA, MSc or BS (Hons).
- The age is outside the 21 to 45 year limit.
- No document was attached to prove the claim.
- The complaint was submitted after 27 October.
Our older guide on STI merit list appeal procedure also lists rejection reasons from previous rounds, which are still useful this year.
What happens after the objection window closes
Once complaints are decided, shortlisted candidates appear for interviews on 29 and 30 October 2026. You can check whether you are called in our STI interview list 2026 update. The final list will be displayed at 10:00 AM on Saturday, 31 October on school notice boards and the STI portal, followed by agreement letters on 2 November and joining on 3 November. Selected interns receive a monthly stipend of Rs 38,000 (Primary), Rs 40,000 (Elementary) or Rs 45,000 (High and Higher Secondary) until 31 May 2027.
One more warning: the department does not charge any fee for objections, interviews or agreement letters, and it does not pay travel allowance for attending them. If anyone on WhatsApp or Facebook asks for money to “fix” your merit, it is a scam. Trust only your school notice board and the official STI portal. For more updates, visit our STI Portal section.
