Why Each Document Matters
CNIC and Domicile
Your CNIC proves who you are and your age. The STI criteria use an age range of 21 to 45 years, so the date of birth on your CNIC and Matric certificate must match. Your Punjab domicile decides your district, because STI seats are filled through a district-wise allocation. If your domicile and your chosen district do not match, your application can be rejected.
Educational Certificates
Merit is worked out mainly from your academic record, so every certificate from Matric to your highest degree counts. For high and higher secondary seats, a 16-year relevant degree is needed. Bank Account
Under the STI programme, the stipend is paid through the intern’s bank account. Under the STI Program 2024 the stipend is Rs38,000 for primary, Rs40,000 for elementary and Rs45,000 for high and higher secondary schools. Make sure your account is active and in your own name. How to Prepare Your STI Document File
- Collect originals of every document in the checklist.
- Make 3 sets of photocopies and get them attested by a Grade 17 or higher officer.
- Scan clear copies on your phone in case the district uses online submission.
- Check names and dates so they match across CNIC, domicile and certificates.
- Keep a file folder with the originals and copies in the same order as the checklist.
Also keep a copy of your submitted application and any receipt or diary number. In the last cycle, candidates had only two days to file an objection at tehsil level if their name was missing from the merit list, and they needed copies of their CNIC, degrees and application receipt to do it.
Online or Offline: How Documents Are Submitted
Reports on the STI programme said candidates apply within their district through a specified portal, and merit lists are shown at deputy DEO offices, on the online portal and on school notice boards. The 25 September 2026 notification itself does not give an application link or a closing date. So wait for your district to announce the method, and use only the official portal or office it names.
If your district asks for online upload, scan each document on a clean white background in good light. Make sure all four corners are visible and the text is readable. If it asks for a paper file, submit it at the named office, get a receipt or diary number and keep it safe. Never send documents to WhatsApp numbers or unknown websites that claim to process STI applications.

Documents Needed at Interview and Joining
Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview and document check. Bring the originals and one attested set of:
- CNIC and domicile
- All educational certificates and transcripts
- Teaching qualification and experience certificates, if any
- 2 to 4 recent photographs
- Printout or copy of your application
- Appointment order, once it is issued

Common Document Mistakes
- Expired CNIC or a domicile from another district
- Different spelling of your name on different certificates
- Missing transcript with the degree
- Blurry photocopies or unattested copies
- Giving original documents to an agent. Never hand over originals, and never pay for a seat.
Existing Interns: Do You Need New Documents?
