Xiaomi has launched its Mijia Triple-Tube Washing Machine, a 14kg series that combines three independent drums with an AI system capable of generating custom wash programs from simple voice or text descriptions.
Three Independent Drums
The washing machine features a main drum with 11kg capacity alongside two smaller drums of 1.5kg each, all operating independently with their own separate water supply. A washer-dryer version is also available, offering 9kg of total drying capacity, split between a 7kg main compartment and 1kg in each of the smaller drums. Despite housing three separate drums, Xiaomi says the machine’s overall footprint remains close to that of its existing 10kg ultra-slim washing machine, making it compact enough for standard built-in cabinet setups.
AI-Powered Wash Customization
The standout feature is the AI Mijia Lingyun system, which combines Xiaomi’s washing algorithms with its MiMo large language model. Rather than selecting from a fixed list of preset wash modes, users can simply type or speak a description of the fabrics, colors and stains involved, and the system generates a customized wash program tailored to those specifics.
The machine also includes cold-water sterilization technology that provides up to 10 days of antibacterial protection between wash cycles, an added hygiene feature for households looking to reduce bacterial buildup without relying solely on hot water cycles.
Pricing and Availability
The washer-dryer version is priced at approximately $745, while the washing machine-only model costs around $595. Pre-orders are currently open exclusively in China, with no announcement yet regarding availability in Pakistan or a confirmed international delivery timeline.
For now, Pakistani consumers interested in AI-driven home appliances will need to wait for confirmation of whether and when Xiaomi plans to bring this triple-drum washing machine to markets outside China.
