Private schools across Punjab have demanded the removal of the weekly Friday holiday. The issue was raised during a key stakeholdersβ meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Pak Aiwan-e-Taleem head Qazi Naeem Anjum. Discussions focused on academic performance and school management challenges.
School representatives argued that fewer working days are affecting student learning. They stressed the need for more classroom-based education.
Qazi Naeem Anjum said online classes are not effective enough. He emphasized that students need physical classes for better results.
He suggested that the academic calendar should include at least 210 school days. This would help improve overall educational outcomes.
The issue of delayed textbooks was also highlighted. Officials said late book printing caused academic loss for many students.
Anjum urged authorities to ensure timely publication of textbooks next year. He said this is essential for smooth academic progress.
He also called on the Lahore Board to extend affiliations for private schools. This would help institutions continue operations without disruption.
Several education stakeholders attended the meeting. They shared concerns and recommendations to improve the education system.
The demand to end the Friday holiday may spark debate. Authorities are expected to review the proposal in the coming weeks.
Experts believe any decision will impact both students and teachers. The focus remains on improving education quality in Punjab.
