The Pakistan Embassy in Oman has announced a new passport fee structure. The revised rates will take effect from May 1, 2026.
Under the new policy, fees will vary based on validity and urgency. Applicants can choose between normal and urgent processing options.
A 5-year passport with 36 pages will cost 12 Omani Riyals for normal service. The urgent fee for the same passport is set at 19 Omani Riyals.
For a 10-year passport with 36 pages, the fee will start from 17 Omani Riyals. Prices may increase depending on urgency.
The embassy has also introduced strict penalties for lost passports. These measures aim to improve responsibility among applicants.
If a passport is lost for the first time, applicants must pay double the original fee. This rule applies to all categories.
In case of a second loss, the penalty becomes even higher. Applicants will have to pay four times the original fee.
Officials say the policy is designed to prevent negligence. It encourages citizens to handle their documents carefully.
The embassy has advised all Pakistani citizens in Oman to safeguard their passports. Avoiding loss can save them from heavy penalties.
This update is important for overseas Pakistanis planning to renew or apply for passports. The new system ensures better regulation and accountability.
