There is a major update for Headmaster Jobs 2026 Punjab. The Punjab Finance Department has approved 1,629 new posts of Headmaster, Headmistress, Senior Headmaster and Senior Headmistress for government schools across 40 districts. The approval was issued on 4 November 2026, on a request sent by the School Education Department on 23 October 2026.
This is the official step that clears the way for recruitment. However, the job advertisement and application dates have not been announced yet. Here is everything confirmed so far.

Lump-Sum Pay Package Instead of BPS
The new posts will be filled on a lump-sum pay package. They replace 1,629 posts that were previously in the Basic Pay Scale (BPS) system and have now been abolished. This is why claims on social media that these are regular BS-17 and BS-18 jobs are not accurate at this stage.
Earlier, the government had proposed hiring around 1,600 school heads at a fixed salary of Rs 150,000 per month through a PPSC test and interview. Who Will Pay for These Posts?
According to the notification, each District Education Authority (DEA) must meet the cost of these posts from its available Provincial Finance Commission (PFC) share. No extra funds will be released for them.
When Will the Headmaster Jobs Advertisement Come?
With the Finance Department’s approval done, the next step is the recruitment advertisement by the School Education Department or PPSC. Eligibility, age limit, salary, test pattern and the application portal will be confirmed only in that advertisement. Until then, any “apply now” link or exact syllabus being shared online is based on guesswork.
How to Prepare in the Meantime
- Keep your degrees, CNIC and experience certificates ready and attested.
- Get experience certificates that clearly show your teaching and administrative work.
- Revise school management, education policy, general knowledge, English and Pakistan affairs, which are common in PPSC tests.
