Oct 25, 2026

The CTI tentative merit list went up on the evening of Friday, 23 October 2026, and the next step has already begun. Shortlisted College Teaching Intern candidates are now facing their CTI interview presentation at the colleges where they applied, on 25 and 26 October. If your name is on the tentative list, this guide tells you exactly what the interview looks like, what topic to prepare, which documents to carry and how the result feeds into the final list on 29 October.

Many candidates are nervous because they think the interview can knock them out. In reality, the CTI interview is a short subject presentation in front of the college committee, and it carries only 5 marks out of 100 under the schedule shared for CTI 2026-27. Your academic record is still the main part of your merit. A calm, well-prepared five-minute talk is all you need to secure those marks and complete your document check.

CTI Interview Presentation 2026: Dates and Full Schedule

Here is the complete CTI interview 2026 timeline as announced for this round. Always confirm the exact time with your college, because each college committee runs its own day:

Check the tentative position first in our CTI merit list 2026 guide and the name-wise update in CTI interview list 2026.

What happens inside the CTI interview room?

  • A college committee, usually the principal and senior faculty of your subject, sits in the panel.
  • You are asked to give a short presentation on a topic from your subject, normally five to seven minutes, as if you were teaching an intermediate or BS class.
  • The panel may ask two or three follow-up questions about the topic or your teaching approach.
  • Your original documents are verified at the same sitting.
  • Marks are added to your academic score, and the successful list with marks is displayed on 26 October.

How to Prepare for the CTI Interview Presentation

Because the presentation is short, preparation is simple but it must be focused. Follow these steps tonight or tomorrow morning:

  1. Pick one core topic from the first-year or second-year syllabus of your subject. Examples: Newton’s laws for Physics, photosynthesis for Botany, the tenses for English, demand and supply for Economics, or the Pakistan Resolution for History.
  2. Structure it in three parts: a one-line introduction, two or three main points with a simple example, and a one-line summary.
  3. Use the whiteboard if one is available. Draw one diagram, one formula or one key-term list. Panels like candidates who teach rather than read.
  4. Practise with a timer. Five minutes goes very fast; aim for four and a half so you are never cut off.
  5. Prepare for follow-up questions such as “How would you handle a weak student?” or “How will you check that students understood?”
  6. Dress formally and arrive early. Many colleges interview in order of merit or arrival, and late arrivals can lose their turn.

Documents to carry for CTI interview 2026

Verification happens at the interview, so missing documents can cost you more than a weak presentation. Carry your original degree, your final semester result if the degree has not been issued yet, your CNIC, a copy of your portal application and a few passport-size photographs. If you have MPhil or higher, carry that degree too, because it decides your stipend band.

What if your marks are different in different colleges?

Some candidates apply in more than one college and notice that the marks shown are not the same. Note the figure for each college and politely raise the issue with the committee during your interview. If it is still not corrected on the 26 October list, take your documents to the divisional grievance committee on 27 or 28 October.

CTI stipend and tenure in 2026-27

Selected College Teaching Interns receive Rs 65,000 per month if they hold a qualification below MPhil and Rs 75,000 per month with MPhil or above, paid through bank. The internship runs for 7 months at associate colleges (2 November 2026 to 31 May 2027) and 8 months at graduate colleges (2 November 2026 to 30 June 2027). For the final selection, follow our CTI final merit list 2026 update, and remember that CTI and STI are separate programmes with separate dates. School-level candidates should read our STI objection 2026 guide instead. Official information is available on the CTI portal.

Sample 5-minute CTI presentation outline

If you are short on time, use this ready outline and fill it with your own subject. It works for science, arts and language subjects alike, and it shows the panel that you can plan a lesson:

  • Minute 1: Greet the panel, name the topic and say why it matters for intermediate students.
  • Minutes 2 to 3: Explain the first two key points with one board diagram or example from daily life in Pakistan.
  • Minute 4: Ask the panel one quick check question, the way you would ask a class, and answer it briefly.
  • Minute 5: Summarise in two lines and mention a small homework or activity you would give.

Speak slowly, look at the panel instead of your notes, and finish on time. A clear, confident talk with simple language often scores better than a complicated lecture full of difficult terms.
