Punjab Police have formally requested the Rawalpindi schools closure of 48 educational institutions across the district to accommodate more than 15,000 police personnel who are being deployed for security duties in the twin cities.

Rawalpindi Schools Closure: Which Institutions Are Affected
According to the request submitted by Punjab Police to the district administration, the identified locations are spread across several tehsils of Rawalpindi district. A total of 21 institutions have been marked in Rawalpindi city itself, along with 10 in Taxila, five in Gujar Khan, three in Kallar Syedan, and six near the Chakri Interchange.
Police personnel arriving for the security deployment will be accommodated inside these educational institutions for the duration of their duty. Because the facilities need to be vacated for the force, a formal closure request has been sent to the district administration so that teaching activities at the affected schools and colleges can be suspended for as long as the deployment continues.
A decision on suspending classes and declaring holidays at the identified institutions is expected soon, and parents and school administrations in the affected areas are advised to watch for an official notification before making further arrangements. Until an order is issued, schools are expected to continue operating normally. Administrations at the listed institutions have been informally notified so they can begin preparing their premises and adjusting academic schedules accordingly.
