The Punjab Education Management Authority has launched a new policy to eliminate fake student enrollments. The move aims to improve transparency in the education system.
A province-wide verification drive has started from May 4 and will continue until May 21, 2026. During this period, student attendance will be physically checked in schools.
Officials said the process will confirm actual student numbers. It will help remove fictitious or paper enrollments from records.
The verification will be conducted twice a year, in May and October. Data will be matched with the School Information System to identify discrepancies.
Assistant Education Officers and District Education Officers have been assigned key responsibilities. They must ensure strict implementation across all districts.
Authorities have directed schools to submit detailed reports after verification. These reports will help track accuracy and compliance.
PIMA has warned of strict action against schools with fake enrollments. Violations may lead to disciplinary measures.
The initiative is part of broader reforms in Punjab’s education sector. It focuses on accountability and accurate data management.
Experts believe this step will improve resource allocation. It will also ensure better planning for students and schools.
