The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its latest Quality of Service (QoS) survey for the second quarter of 2026, covering April through June across 11 major cities including Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Quetta, Karachi West, and others. According to the survey findings, Zong led in 7 out of the total indicators tested, while Jazz came out on top in 6 indicators, making this one of the more evenly split QoS results PTA has published in recent survey cycles.

Jazz recorded the highest 4G auto-mode download speeds in 9 out of the 11 cities surveyed, a strong showing for data performance across most of the tested locations. The network also led in highest broadband third-party app download speeds in 8 cities, reinforcing its position as a strong performer for everyday data usage like streaming and app downloads.
On voice quality, Jazz met QoS benchmarks across all 11 cities surveyed, covering a total of 55 individual checks — a clean sweep on the voice-quality front. For SMS performance, both Jazz and Zong tied for the top spot, with both operators meeting all 22 SMS-related key performance indicators (KPIs) tested during the survey period.

The mixed results suggest that the “best” network in Pakistan increasingly depends on what a user prioritizes — those focused primarily on data speeds and downloads may lean toward Jazz’s strong 4G and broadband performance, while Zong’s lead across 7 separate indicators suggests it holds its own strength in areas not captured by download speed alone, such as network availability or specific technical benchmarks PTA tracks separately.
For consumers deciding between operators, these quarterly QoS reports from PTA remain one of the few independent, standardized benchmarks available, offering a city-by-city breakdown rather than relying solely on marketing claims from telecom operators themselves.
