Lahore Traffic Police has launched a citywide crackdown against underage and unlicensed drivers to improve road safety and enforce traffic laws.
According to Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, strict action will be taken against motorists violating driving license and traffic regulations.
Officials said vehicles and motorcycles driven by underage drivers will be impounded and shifted to police stations along with the issuance of traffic challans.
The traffic police also announced fines for drivers using learner permits or expired licenses. Car drivers may face a fine of Rs. 5,000, while motorcycle riders can be fined Rs. 2,000 for similar violations.
Authorities confirmed that action will also be taken against triple riding across Lahore during the crackdown operation.
The CTO clarified that commercial vehicles cannot be operated using regular car or motorcycle licenses. Drivers of buses, wagons, and public transport vehicles must possess a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license.
Similarly, drivers operating trucks, trailers, and heavy transport vehicles are required to hold an HTV driving license.
Traffic officials said all driving license offices in Lahore will remain open despite holidays to facilitate citizens seeking valid licenses and learner permits.
Special checking points have also been established outside licensing centers to identify motorists driving without proper documentation.
Authorities further stated that online services for learner permits, duplicate licenses, and license renewals are available for public convenience.
According to the CTO, Lahore currently has 11 driving testing centers, two mobile testing vans, and 20 facilitation centers for driving license services.
The latest crackdown has become a major topic online as users search for Lahore traffic police fines, underage driving Pakistan, driving license rules, and latest traffic updates.
