Gold prices in Pakistan posted a fresh increase on Saturday, tracking similar gains in the international bullion market, though industry observers expect rates to stay below the Rs. 5 lac per tola mark in the near term.
Latest Price Movement
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold closed at Rs. 457,136 per tola after gaining Rs. 400 on the day, while 10-gram gold settled at Rs. 391,920, up Rs. 343 from the previous close. This follows a decline the day before, when gold lost Rs. 5,600 to close at Rs. 456,736 on Friday. In the international market, gold gained $4 to settle at $4,346 per ounce, including a $20 premium, while silver also moved higher, climbing to Rs. 6,924 per tola after gaining Rs. 53.
Outlook for Coming Days
Market conditions in the United Arab Emirates, a key regional hub influencing gold pricing trends in South Asia, are expected to keep bullion rates under $4,600 per ounce internationally in the coming days, suggesting a sharp breakout toward the psychologically significant Rs. 5 lac per tola threshold appears less likely in the immediate term. Gold remains a widely held asset in Pakistan, both as jewelry and as a store of value, meaning even modest daily fluctuations are closely tracked by consumers, particularly around wedding seasons when gold jewelry purchases tend to rise.
