The Federal Public Service Commission has announced that several interviews scheduled in Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar on September 24 and 25, 2026, have been postponed. The FPSC interviews postponed notice affects candidates who were called for teaching and administrative posts under federal education departments, and new dates will be announced later by the commission.
According to a public notice issued by the FPSC, the decision was taken because of road closures and the current law and order situation in the country. The commission said the move was meant to avoid inconvenience to candidates, many of whom travel from other cities to appear in person for their interviews.
Candidates who were due to appear on these dates do not need to report to the FPSC offices. They are advised to regularly check the official FPSC website and their registered email and mobile numbers for the revised schedule, as the commission usually informs candidates individually once new dates are fixed.
Five FPSC Interview Programmes Affected
The postponement covers Interview Programmes 120/2026 to 124/2026. Programme 120/2026 in Lahore was for the post of Vice Principal (Female), BS-18, under the Federal Education and Professional Training Division. Interviews were set for 9:30 am on September 24 and 25, with 14 candidates called on each day.
Programme 121/2026 in Islamabad covered the post of Senior Elementary Teacher (Female), BS-16, at Islamabad Model Schools under the Federal Directorate of Education. On both days, 13 candidates from the Mathematics subject had been called for interviews.
Programme 122/2026 in Lahore was for Vice Principal (Male), BS-18, with 14 candidates called each day at 9:30 am. Programme 123/2026 in Islamabad also covered the post of Vice Principal (Male), BS-18, with 13 candidates scheduled on each of the two days.
These posts are among the most sought-after teaching and administrative jobs in the federal education sector. Vice Principal posts in BS-18 and Senior Elementary Teacher posts in BS-16 offer stable careers with government pay scales, allowances and pension benefits, which is why hundreds of candidates apply every year and only a small number are shortlisted for the final interview stage.
Peshawar Interviews for SET Posts Also Delayed
Programme 124/2026 in Peshawar covered interviews for Senior Elementary Teacher (Female), BS-16, at Islamabad Model Schools. The September 24 schedule included eight candidates from Biology, Zoology and Botany at 9:30 am, eight English candidates at 9:45 am, two Chemistry candidates at 10:00 am, two Urdu candidates at 10:30 am, three Physics candidates at 11:00 am and four Computer Science candidates at 11:45 am.
All of these interviews now stand postponed under the FPSC notice. Candidates should keep their original call letters, CNIC and educational documents ready, as the same requirements are expected to apply when the interviews are rescheduled. Those who face any confusion can contact the FPSC helpline or visit the commission’s regional offices once normal movement resumes in the three cities.
The postponement comes at a time when many government departments and educational institutions in the twin cities and surrounding areas are adjusting their schedules due to security arrangements. Job seekers waiting for federal posts are advised to stay patient and rely only on official FPSC announcements rather than social media rumours about new dates.
