Oct 20, 2026

The Punjab teachers e-transfer process has moved to its most important stage. The online application window for the new round closed on 19 October, and from today, 20 October 2026, district offices have started the document verification of every application submitted through the School Information System (SIS). If you are a promoted teacher, a teacher waiting for a posting, or a teacher serving in an outsourced school, the next seven days will decide where you work for the coming months.

Today News: Punjab Teachers E-Transfer Verification Begins Today – Orders on 27 October

The School Education Department (SED) Punjab announced this special round on 15 October. It is not a general open transfer drive for every teacher. Instead, it targets three groups who usually face the longest delays in getting a regular place of posting. Below we explain the full schedule, who is covered, what happens during verification and what you should do if something goes wrong.

Punjab Teachers E-Transfer 2026: Complete Schedule

The department has fixed a tight timeline so that all orders are issued before the end of October. Here is the official schedule of the e-transfer schedule 2026:

StageDates
Online applications on SIS portal15 to 19 October 2026 (closed)
Document verification20 to 22 October 2026
Resolution of objections / concerns23 to 26 October 2026
Issuance of e-transfer orders27 October 2026

This means that the verification stage running from today until Thursday is the only time when district officers check your data against your service record. Any mistake that is not caught now will be much harder to correct after the orders are generated by the system.

Who Is Covered in This E-Transfer Round?

According to the notification, this round is meant for the following categories of school staff:

  • Promoted teachers who have been promoted but have not yet been adjusted against a vacant post of their new grade.
  • Teachers awaiting posting, including those who are waiting for a place of posting after appointment, return from leave or other administrative reasons.
  • Teachers serving in outsourced schools who need to be adjusted in regular government schools.

Teachers outside these groups should not expect orders in this round. They will have to wait for the next general e-transfer window announced by the department.

What Happens During Document Verification?

During the three days of verification, the concerned District Education Authority staff will check the information entered on the SIS portal. In most districts this includes your personal number, CNIC, current designation, promotion notification, date of joining and the posting preferences you selected. The Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities have also been told to make sure that every promoted teacher is properly tagged on the SIS portal. If your promotion is not tagged correctly, the system may not show you the right vacancies.

Important rule about posting preferences

Under the Punjab E-Transfer Policy 2024, a promoted teacher who gave too few preferences, or chose stations where no post is vacant, can be adjusted by the department against any available vacancy. The same rule applies to teachers awaiting posting: the appointing authority or SED can post them to any vacant seat through SIS if their choices are insufficient. In simple words, if you did not choose enough vacant schools, the system may choose for you.

What Teachers Should Do Now

  • Log in to the SIS portal and check that your application status shows as submitted and not as draft.
  • Keep copies of your promotion order, appointment letter, CNIC and last pay slip ready in case the district office asks for them.
  • Contact your AEO or DEO office today if any information is wrong. Do not wait until the orders are issued.
  • If your application is marked with an objection, use the 23 to 26 October window to get it resolved.
  • Check the portal again on 27 October to see your e-transfer orders.

Why This Round Matters for Schools

Many government schools in Punjab are facing teacher shortages while hundreds of promoted teachers are still sitting without proper adjustment. By clearing this backlog, the department hopes to fill vacant seats before the winter session and the annual school census. Teachers, on the other hand, finally get a clear place of posting matching their new grade. For more official updates you can visit the School Education Department Punjab website.
