Vivo has confirmed that the Vivo V80 will launch in India on October 6 at 12 PM. Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed several key details of the phone, including its display, battery, cameras, software and colour options, giving buyers a clear idea of what to expect from the latest member of its popular V series.
The V series has become one of Vivo’s best-selling lines in South Asia, including Pakistan, thanks to its focus on slim designs, strong cameras and long battery life. The V80 continues this approach with a bigger battery than before, ZEISS-tuned cameras and the latest Android software.
The phone will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. This should make the screen smooth for scrolling and gaming while remaining easy to read in bright sunlight. Vivo will offer the V80 in three colours: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.
Vivo V80 Cameras and Software
The Vivo V80 will come with four cameras co-developed with ZEISS, continuing the partnership that has been a major selling point for Vivo’s recent phones. The camera system will support 4K Cinematic Video as well as 4K video recording at 60fps with optical image stabilisation, which should help users capture smooth and steady footage.
For the Indian market, Vivo is also adding festive camera features, including AI Diwali Portrait 2.0 and a dedicated Diwali Frame. These features are designed to attract buyers during the festive shopping season, which is one of the busiest periods for smartphone sales in the region.
On the software side, the V80 will ship with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. This will make it the first smartphone to run OriginOS 7 outside China, marking a major change from the Funtouch OS interface Vivo has used in international markets for years. Buyers in India will also get 100GB of Google One cloud storage for six months.
Vivo has not yet revealed the processor or memory configurations of the phone. These details will be shared at the official launch. Flagship chips such as the newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 are generally reserved for premium models, so the V80 is expected to use a mid-range or upper mid-range chipset.
Vivo V80 Battery, Charging and Launch in Pakistan
One of the biggest upgrades is the battery. The Vivo V80 will pack a 7,200mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging. This is a large capacity for a slim mid-range phone and should easily last more than a full day of heavy use, while the fast charging support means the battery can be topped up quickly.
The remaining specifications, including the chipset, RAM and storage options and final pricing, will be announced when the phone launches on October 6. Vivo usually brings its V series phones to Pakistan within a few weeks or months of their launch in India, so local buyers can expect the V80 to arrive in the Pakistani market later this year. Pricing in Pakistan will be announced separately by Vivo Pakistan closer to the local launch.
